Yusuf Kocaman ’19

My name is Yusuf and I’m a 17 years old Senior in High school.
The desire of Learning a new language and meeting new people guided me to live in Egypt with a couple of friends. I stayed in Egypt 9th and 10th grades away from my family. There, I learned Arabic to a near fluent level and made many friends. I now know three languages and want to use these languages to reach out to people and communicate with them. I always enjoyed writing and I started my personal diary blog in Egypt. During my time in Egypt I made many friends and memories that really changed who I am today. I saw people suffered of war at the middle east, I started a UNHCR fundraising campaign for the Syrian refugees.

I like to listen to and produce music, I put the beats that I make on my SoundCloud account. I also like to bike with friends.

I believe that everyone must take part in solving Social problems, that’s why I am here on the “Meet The Team” page as a co-founder of donothate.org
