United We Stand Against Hate!

Why I feel racism is bullying

Racism is dividing the US rapidly, like a dark plague of hate. Even those who dreams of a world of unity and love are feeling the effects on this emotionless, train wreck of this form of hate.

Me personally,

I hate hate and love love. But like others I am feeling it’s effects. I see, hear and feel it everyday. It’s tiresome but my second wind always reminds me to keep fighting.

Luckily I fight with perspective. I offer thorough explanations and examples of the what, why, when, where and how. I do my research.

So, today I saw an article on bullying. The elements of what was described about what occurred seemed familiar. I recognized that racism is in fact parallel to bullying. In fact, racism can’t exist without the elements of a bully.

The American psychological association defines bullying as—

“a form of aggressive behavior in which someone intentionally and repeatedly causes another person injury or discomfort. Bullying can take the form of physical contact, words or more subtle actions.”

Racism has to have an aggressor with intentional and repeated reasons to cause some one of another race feel discomfort. Below, I’ve listed 5 ideas to support why racism is a form of bullying.

1.) “Racists see others as being less than, and think of themselves as being superior.
2.) “Implicit biases are when you’re not aware that you have a race bias. You behave in a discriminatory way without realizing that you have racist values.”

3.) Socialization plays a role in the psychological effects a person has.

4.) Racist feels “find comfort in a belief in innate superiority and entitlement and be too terrified or satisfied with the status quo to surrender it without a safe alternative.”
5.) “Verbal bullying includes name calling, insults, teasing, intimidation, homophobic or racist remarks, or verbal abuse. While verbal bullying can start off harmless, it can escalate to levels which start affecting the individual target”

Hopefully, you got the gist of why African Americans are fed up. How much longer should we take on your pain of inadequacy and fear? How much longer would you? This is why I personally believe racism is a form of bullying.
