Enough is enough
Our hearts are breaking, our hearts ache today. Once again, our Nation grieves another mass murder.
Thoughts and prayers won’t restore the lives of those killed at Santa Fe. We are saddened that our nation’s leaders have not acted in a meaningful way to address gun violence in America. It is a national shame that more students have died in our nation’s schools in 2018 than service-members in combat.
Something needs to change. We should not have to fear for our lives while going to school. We shouldn’t have to overcome the fear of death just to receive an education.
We renew our call to lawmakers to take substantive action on the mass shooting epidemic in our country.
Let’s make our schools to be a place of joy and friendship not bully, not fear and not terror.
Our prayers go out to everyone affected by the Santa Fe School shooting.
As Do Not Hate we attended to Friday Service in Temple Beth Tikvah as a guest of Rabbi Meeka who we interviewed and have been in contact with for some time. We had the opportunity to get to know each other in person, which was just amazing. Rabbi Meeka is one of our biggest supporters on our way to spread our goal and try to reach out to as many people as we can. She is such a wonderful, brave and a loving person. As Do Not Hate, we have the desire of; a world without hate, a world where everyone has mutual respect for each other and accepts one another. And by every step we get closer to our goal. As united we stand against hate.
Last week, we had the wonderful opportunity to talk with John Rogers, an associate pastor at the First Congregational Church of Montclair. We got his take on hate and hate crime and also discussed some contemporary issues. A couple minutes into the conversation it was obvious that he was someone who is dedicated to making the world a better place and teaching the youth to be more accepting and open minded. We learned a lot from John and hope that you do too…
It makes me sad. The hatred that can run through someone’s veins so deep that they’re blinded from all visions of reality. To want to hurt. Scream. Shout. Cry. All for… why?
Last week, we had a chance to meet and interview Rabbi Meeka Simerly. She is sincere, heartfelt, and passionate. When we interviewed her, we saw a strong woman approaching life with much energy, creativity and enthusiasm; a leader without any vanity.
Rabbi/cantor Meeka Simerly is a Reform Rabbi at Temple Beth Tikvah Wayne, NJ, who is dedicated to her job. She is a woman who devoted herself to love and peace.
We want our schools to be a place of joy and friendship not bully, not fear and not terror.
Our hearts are broken and spirits are heavy. We are deeply saddened by the tragic and senseless attack today at the Marjory Stonemason Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, that took 17 innocent lives and injured many more.
We join with the people of Parkland in mourning the devastating loss of life.
We would like to call all our friends, students to take action for spreading love kindness. We believe that our future is in our hands and we the students need to take action.
May we as a nation learn that violence and hate must always yield to peace, inclusiveness, and love. We are holding all of those affected by this horrible act of violence in our hearts and prayers.
As you might have realized, the DoNotHate crew hasn’t been too active on the website as of late. Don’t worry, we didn’t forget about it.
The reason we haven’t been too active is because we’ve been working on a new project tackling hate and bullying in schools. We’ve decided to call this project DoNotBully.
For the last couple of weeks, we’ve been working on a DoNotBully guide pamphlet and also have been working to start a DoNotBully Campaign in our school.
Details are coming soon. Stay with Us 🙂

Recent events in the United States in Charlottesville, Virginia have reverberated around the world.1-11 They commenced with a horrifying “Unite the Right” conclave where alt-right white supremacists and neo-Nazis openly joined in a terrifying torch-lit evening rally and daytime demonstration, both replete with Confederate and Nazi symbols, slogans, and myriad assault rifles. Their violent rally led to the death of a non-violent…
