Almost a third of LGBTI Scots who have experienced hate crime have been the victim of at least 10 attacks, new research has revealed.
A survey of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and inter-sex people in Scotland found that three fifths (61%) considered themselves to have been a target of a hate crime at some point in their lives.
Man, the struggle is real.
The hate in this world is a struggle.
Last Monday morning was a weird morning. I woke up, checked Facebook and saw my college friend’s post saying she was marked safe in the Las Vegas violence.

Today my boss was given a letter from the Klu Klux Klan aka the KKK. They started the letter by stating despite the bad PA that made them out to be a hate group nothing could be further from the truth.
With everything going on in the world and always hearing and seeing bad news everywhere, I can get a bit overwhelmed and emotional. It really makes me think why people feel the need to hurt other people. And not just anyone, but innocent people with families, friends, hopes and dreams.
Hate is a cancer.
It grows, it feeds on healthy tissue, and by and large will invade and take over.
Hate is a controller.
You can no more control hate within you, than you can control someone else’s hate.
Hate is hostile.
You cannot hate and be reasonable.
It’s frustrating how an event where people can be together and feel alive and free for a night can turn into a brutal and disturbing moment. These violent actions with relation to guns or any form of weapons should end.

As hate crimes targeting Muslims and Jews rise across the United States, according to advocacy groups, the key to sparking change in Metro Detroit lies in forging ties and fighting back, activists said Tuesday.
“You’ve got to speak up,” said Farooq Kathwari, president/CEO of Ethan Allen Interiors and co-chair of the national Muslim-Jewish Advisory Council. “Silence is not a good option.”
I will not “pray” for Las Vegas.Instead I will take action. I will advocate for stricter gun laws, speak out against hatred and violence, treat everyone I meet with kindness and respect, and spread happiness and peace everywhere I go. I will keep the innocent individuals affected by this violence in my thoughts. I will honor those who have lost their lives by doing something to combat all of this hate. But I will not “just pray”.

First and foremost I want to express my deepest sympathies and condolences to those who were affected by last nights unfortunate event in Las Vegas. I have a few friends who have moved to Las Vegas and thankfully none were hurt. I pray that the families of the loved ones who were affected may find peace and comfort.
