The Equal Protection Clause is a part of the Fourteenth Amendment in the United states constitution, which took its effect in the late 1860’s. The point of this Clause was to guarantee equal rights and equal protection to all citizens. There are various opinions on the matter, whether it is right or wrong, useful or useless, etc. Everybody has different ideas but my opinion is that it is totally useless.

I most definitely believe that the Equal Protection Clause is well needed in this country of diverse society but I feel that it is useless when not applied by all. Even if the Supreme Court and those with equal power believe in this, there is no point when some cops kill innocent civilians because of their color, or stores not serving customers due to their religion. In just 2017 alone at least 300 unarmed Innocent black citizens were killed, and only one percent of the police were charged.

I do believe in the Equal protection Clause, and I do want people of all races to have the same rights. I think that everyone has the right to feel safe in this country, but if the government doesn’t do something about the problems then there will be no chance. Even though I believe in the Equal protection Clause I don’t have hope for its Future. I fantasize a utopia of peace and happiness, but when I see our world and its corrupt authorities I lose all previous hope. It is impossible to stop all hate but in the End this is the fault of the government and not of the people. If the corrupt were punished for their acts of disrespect America’s immigrants would live peaceful lives.

The Equal protection clause is a great concept which was never fully applied, because there will always be racist people in this country. When the most powerful people in the country are prejudice and don’t do anything about the racial problems it is Impossible for change. Even if I believe that the equal protection Clause is an amazing Thing for the people, I know that it is useless and it won’t be able to help everybody. This is why in our very world, I don’t see the Clause as a positive, nor negative, but rather the little something in the middle that has no use and will be forgotten.
